"He who works with his hands is a workman. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist."

Francis of Assisi

Artistic activities permeate the whole curriculum, and some of these are also taught as separate subjects in their own right.

In painting lessons, the pupils paint with pure watercolours, using a wet-on-wet technique.

The children are encouraged to explore the characteristics of the colours and to develop a good sense of colour moods and harmonies.

The children use beeswax or natural clay for modelling lessons, and beeswax crayons for drawing.

“The basis of artistic creation is not what is, but what might be; not the real, but the possible."
Rudolf Steiner

"A real artist may create his picture in a lonely desert... gods look over his shoulder; he creates in their company. What does he care whether or not anybody admires his picture?"
